About the Blog
Travel Daze was created in 2014 to document my life as I moved and traveled around the USA doing seasonal work, and then as I moved to New Zealand for a working holiday. Since then, it has transformed into a platform to share travel tips, city guides, interesting places, and resources for fellow travelers.
Travel Daze focuses on destinations—I want to dig into the places I visit and really get to know them. I don’t simplify a country into one blog post and then move on to the next one. I write about all of the ways you can experience a place, from food & coffee, to hiking & outdoor adventures, to activities & cool spots to visit.
I create content for travelers, whether new or experienced. I create content for people on a budget, because most travelers aren’t staying in luxury hotels and flying business class. I create content for people with varied interests—one day they’re exploring a new city, visiting museums and coffee shops, and the next day they’re going on a big hike.
Ultimately, Travel Daze is about going on adventures and finding a way to make travel a regular part of your life.
About the Blogger
My name is Courtney Minor and I’m the blogger behind Travel Daze.
I grew up just outside of St. Louis, Missouri, and I’ve spent a lot of time traveling around the USA. I’ve always dreamed of traveling the world. It’s the one dream that never went away as I got older, so I decided to finally make that dream a reality.
I prefer to travel slowly rather than hopping from one country to the next. I tend to work while I travel in order to save money, make money, and to spend more time in one place. This style of travel allows me to get to know a place on a deeper level and gives me time to find all of the best spots.
99% of the time I am traveling solo, because if you aren’t willing to travel alone, you’re probably not going to travel as much as you want to. I’ve always been the type of person to spend time alone (major introvert!), so the idea of traveling solo never scared me. I prefer to travel by myself for the most part, but it’s nice to take a trip with friends now and again.
I like road trips, national parks, vegetarian food, farming, hiking, libraries, gardens, coffee shops, hostels, and art museums. I am constantly on the hunt for the absolute most amazing perfect best views.
I’m always on a budget, so I look for interesting ways to save money and live on the road. Sometimes that means working a seasonal job, sometimes that means living in a hostel, and these days that means building an online career in travel writing and digital marketing.
