Porto Airbnb: Vintage Chic Studio
From the moment I walked into this studio apartment, I was in love. It’s a big, open space with hardwood floors, a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, and beautiful architectural detailing.
The shabby-chic, vintage décor of the space really showed off the character of the building. A deep-blue velvet couch, retro knick-knacks on the bookshelf, a vintage wood vanity with little daisy drawer pulls…it made me feel like I was in the chic European apartment of my dreams.
My favorite part of this Porto Airbnb was the windows. I’m a sucker for good light, and this place definitely has it. You can open up all the windows (doors, really) to let in the light and fresh air, and look out over the street below.
A good window situation that allows you to observe people out on the streets is a quintessentially European detail in my mind.
This is a single-room apartment, along with a full bathroom. There is one queen-size bed, a small living area, and a pretty decent kitchen.
- The bathroom has an updated shower and everything you need with plenty of space.
- The kitchen has a mini refrigerator, a sink, a small stove top (no oven), and a microwave. All dishes and utensils are provided. It’s everything you would need to do some basic cooking, but you’ll most likely eat at the nearby restaurants anyways.
- There is a TV and good wi-fi.
- Inside of an apartment building with some stairs and a key entry.
This Porto Airbnb is in a great area. It’s just a short walk from Batalha Square, on Rua de Passos Manuel. It’s very convenient to the main city centre and some of the main attractions and tourist-focused areas, but it’s just far enough off to feel a little less…chaotic.
The apartment is steps away from lots of restaurants, shops, etc. There’s a grocery store a few buildings down.
If you’ve never used Airbnb before, you can sign up and get a $40 credit to use towards your first booking. You can find a lot of Airbnbs in Porto (and the rest of Portugal) for $40 or less per night, so this discount will definitely help you save some money. You’ll also get $15 if you want to try an Airbnb Experience or tour.
Note: your booking needs to be at least $75 total to use the credit (i.e. book a couple of nights and you’re good to go!). Use it on any booking, it doesn’t have to be a Porto Airbnb.
